Officers Training Weekend 2017
This weekend, over sixty members of Shropshire Young Farmers are heading to Arete Outdoor Activity Centre in Caernarfon, for a weekend of training to help prepare them for their year ahead in their top table roles as club Chairmen, Secretaries or Treasurers. The annual Officers Training weekend is organised by the County Chairman, and Personal Development Chairman, and each year a different location is chosen around the country.
The weekend entails team building activities, training for Young Farmers roles, and socialising with other members across the county.
Members arrive on the Friday night for an evening of fun and games and then training begins Saturday morning with sessions on ‘Chairman training’, ‘PR and Social Media’, and ‘Recruitment and Retention’. This year for the first time, a Motivational Speaker has been booked who will inspire members on ‘How to hold an Effective Meeting’.
On the Saturday evening, members will head into Bangor for a night out and then Sunday will be a team building day doing an outdoor activity ran by the Centre such as Kayaking or Raft Building.
This year, packs have been put together for all attendees of the weekend to take away with useful information to help them in their role for the year ahead.
The weekend has kindly been sponsored by Dale Brothers.
