Charity Fun Ride
For the first time,Shropshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs ran a hugely successful Charity Fun Ride for members of the public to attend on Sunday 18th June.
Set over the Clee Hill, over 60 horse riders enjoyed spectacular views and beautiful sunny weather around an 8 mile route. Lillian Davies (main event organiser) reported, "It was a brilliant day and we had a fantastic turnout. We have received such wonderful compliments from riders about the great route and organisation of the ride and I am very pleased."
The day ran very smoothly with help from numerous stewards who pointed riders in the right direction, the Social Committee who kindly ran a BBQ and from the Green family who whizzed about on their quad bike all day to assist everyone. An event such as this requires a huge amount of team work and help so SFYFC would like to say a huge thank you to all those who volunteered and braved the hot weather on the day.
The event raised a fantastic sum of over £700 for SFYFC’s chosen charities; Oak Farm in Ditton Priors, Breast Cancer Care and Midlands Ambulance.
Thank you to the landowners and to the Green family for hosting the event and making some fabulous jumps for the course.
SFYFC would like to especially thank Moule and Co (Rural Land Surveyors) for the rosettes and to In The Saddle and Severn Edge Veterinary Group for generously sponsoring the event.
