- Friday, 18 Nov - Friday, 18 Nov , 18:00
On Friday 18th November the Young Members Committee organised a big social event which was trampolining at Boing Zone, Stourbridge. We all met at the Two Henry's pub, to convoy down to the trampoline park. Huw Roberts managing to get lost before we even left Shrewsbury. It took us just under an hour but we finally got there. 15 of us turned out which is a brilliant. We spent a hour bouncing on the trampolines, playing dodge ball and jumping into the foam pits. It was great fun! As usual on the way back we stopped for a social at Macdonalds to round up the evening. Great fun had by all!

The Shropshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs hold 72nd Annual General Meeting and Celebrate Success and Area and National level.
The Shropshire Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs held their Annual General Meeting on Saturday 12th November at Shrewsbury Football Ground. SFYFC has nearly 1000 members in 18 Clubs throughout the County. Over 400 members and supporters attended the 72nd AGM.
The outgoing Chairman Ed Potter (Dorrington YFC) gave a very amusing speech summarising his year in office before handing over the Chain of Office to Chairman Elect Becky Green (Brown Clee YFC).
This year there were two very able candidates for Vice Chairman, and after several weeks of campaigning, passionate proposal speeches, and a very close vote on the night, Clarrie Hocknell (Whitchurch YFC) gained most votes to become the Vice-Chairman for 2016 – 2017.
Richard Savage (Rea Valley YFC) completed his three year term as President and handed over the Staff of Office to Judy Dixon (formerly Upton Magna and more recently Dorrington YFC). Richard has been a very popular President and was made a Honorary Life Member.
Christine Holmes, The High Sheriff of Shropshire, presented County, West Midland Area and National awards to members and clubs. Awards from National YFC Competitions were presented to Clun Valley YFC for their success in the Ballroom Dancing Competition and Mace-Debating, Chirbury and Marton YFC for winning the Radio Show Competition and Whitchurch YFC for winning the Just a Minute speaking competition. The following received awards for Shropshire YFC Achievements; The Club with the most increased percentage of membership: Cleobury Mortimer YFC, The Best New Member: Joe Brassington and Reece Howells (Brown Clee YFC), Contribution to Agriculture: (Matt Jones Whittington & Oswestry YFC), Best Male Member: Tom Pedge (Rushbury and Cardington), Best Female Member: Alison Jones (Much Wenlock YFC), Tank’s Tankard given for most sociable member: (Roberta Martin Whitchurch YFC)
Presentations were made by the outgoing Chairman Ed Potter to his chosen charities of the year, the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) and the League of Friends of the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. Each received £5,000.Close
